HNC FASHION MAKE-UP

Intro to the course:

This course is for those who have a keen interest in the make-up industry and would like to pursue a career in this highly creative field.         The course includes: Essential make-up skills. Current fashion and classic make-up skills. Runway and editorial make-up and hair skills.  Make-up and hairstyling for a photoshoot. Candidates will undertake Work placement. Makeup Graded Unit 1  

Who is the course for?

This course is ideal for those with a passion for make-up and fashion trends.  The course delivery will encourage you to be more creative and develop your artistic skills. 

What will I study?

You will develop practical skills in all aspects of make-up application, with a strong focus on current fashion trends.                                           Knowledge and understanding will be evidenced within digital candidate portfolios.                                          

Core Units include:  Essential Make-up Skills, Current Fashion and Classic Make-up Skills, Runway and Editorial Make-up and Hair Skills, Work Placement, Presentation and Promotional Skills, Hairdressing Techniques, Make-up and Hairstyling for a Photoshoot, Graded Unit 1

Next step course options

Successful completion of the course will achieve a qualification that supports entry to HND level of study

How will I be assessed?

Practical assessments on live models. Essential knowledge will be collated within digital portfolios, supported by photographic evidence.

What are the entry requirements?

Applicants should have a qualification at SCQF Level 6, preferably in Creative Make-up, Media Make-up, Beauty therapy or Hairdressing or have gained experience working in the make-up industry .

Direct entries without previous experience or qualifications should have a minimum of two hIghers 

What are the interview arrangements?

Applicants will be invited to interview where they will undertake a skills test.
