Intro to the course:

The introduction to Carpentry and Joinery at SCQF level 4 is suitable for those who wish to decide if they want to consider Joinery as a career. 

This course introduces learners to general workplace health and safety, carpentry and joinery skills and the safe use of hand-tools and equipment, In addition, this NPA develops:

• knowledge and understanding of construction
• practical, technical and transferable skills
• oral, written and evaluation abilities
• problem solving and planning
• organisational and communication skills
• developing META skills

• learners who may have just left or about to leave school
• mature candidates who may have been out of education for a long period of time and are seeking a recognised qualification
