Intro to the course:

This creative make-up course will set you on the path to a successful career in fashion make-up or make-up artistry. The course will expand your skills and knowledge and enable you progress into employment or to an HNC/D qualification

PLEASE NOTE: Although the start date displayed is December, you can apply and join the Level 5 Get into Make-up course starting in August and then progress to level 6 in December.  If you wish to apply for the level 5, click HERE

Who is the course for?

This course is ideal for anyone wanting to start or a career within the make-up industry. It will suit school leavers or those looking to change career.

What will I study?

You'll learn skills and techniques in Character makeup, Media Make-up special effects, Styling for a total look, Fantasy make-up,  Wigs and hair pieces for media, Drawing and Colouring Design Skills.  You will learn learn through demonstrations and workshops.

Practical assessments under observation and a portfolio evidence.

What are the entry requirements?

One or more of the following: 

  • Level 5 Get into Make-up, SCQF level 5 Hairdressing, SVQ2 Hairdressing , SVQ2 Beauty at level 5
  • Intro to Hair and Make-up or Gradu8 Make-up Artistry at level 4
  • relevant industry experience 
  • for direct entry, minimum of National 5 English/Art 
  • Successful interview
