This is an elementary level course for those whose first language is not English. It covers everyday language and will help you progress to further study and work. The course covers reading, writing, speaking, listening and grammar. Knowledge of reading and writing in Roman letters is essential for this course.

Ideal for anyone wanting to learn English as a second language looking to work or study in Scotland.
This is an introductory course for learners. It will teach you basic English skills including, everyday communication in English. There is also a focus on grammar, writing simple communication and using tenses appropriately.
On successful completion of the course, you may go on to study a ESOL National 3. Alternatively, employment opportunities are available in workplaces including warehouses and distribution centres for example.
Ongoing assessment of ability in speaking, listening, reading and writing in English.
You’ll learn speaking, listening and writing skills needed to work and study in the UK. It is an introductory course for those with little English. We work with the local authority and Jobcentre Plus to help you progress.
You will improve your chances of going into further education and securing future work.
