Why should I study gas and renewables?

Help power the country by joining the energy industry. Energy is one of Scotland's fastest growing industries. With reliance on renewable energy increasing, there are even more exciting new opportunities to get involved.

The average salary for jobs in this sector for an experienced employee range from £31,000 to £34,000 per year with wages increasing in line with experience, skills and knowledge.

It is estimated that between 2021 and 2024 there will be 5,000 new jobs in Scotland within the industry, so there is no better time to get in to the industry.

What jobs can I get in this area?

You can get jobs in the gas and renewables sector as a plumbing Modern Apprentice with a registered employer.

How are the courses taught?

You’ll be taught in our purpose-built workshops by experienced staff from the industry with a range of site visits and industry speakers supporting students.
