South Lanarkshire College is delighted to announce that it has secured an exciting development opportunity from the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, supporting a new initiative aimed at enhancing student learning experiences within its hospitality and professional cookery programmes.

Through the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts College Community Programme, in association with The Savoy Educational Trust, the College will deliver a programme of guest chef masterclasses, alongside offering students valuable opportunities to take part in industry-focused field trips.

 

This initiative will allow students to engage directly with leading professionals, gain valuable insight into the hospitality industry, and broaden their experience beyond the classroom. By enriching practical learning, inspiring creativity, and strengthening links with industry, these experiences will play a key role in preparing students for successful careers in the culinary sector.

 

South Lanarkshire College is the fourth college in Scotland to receive this prestigious opportunity, highlighting its continued commitment to delivering high-quality, industry-relevant education.

 

The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, whose patron is His Majesty King Charles III, represents some of the most respected figures in the industry. Its members include renowned chefs such as Raymond Blanc OBE, Tom Kerridge, and John Williams MBE, Executive Chef at The Ritz.

 

Helen Vass, the lecturer leading on the initiative, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this opportunity. It will allow our students to learn directly from some of the most respected chefs in the industry and gain valuable real-world insight. visits from guest lecturers and field trips are incredibly impactful in helping students build confidence, skills, and ambition for their future careers.”
