Kieran - Plumbing Apprenticeship
HCS Water Treatment now part of Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG), began as a small company and has grown significantly and remains committed to developing skilled professionals through its apprenticeship programme. This dedication is exemplified in the journeys of Ryan, Kieran, Matthew, and Ebrima whose experiences reflect the company’s investment in talent development. HCS has chosen South Lanarkshire College as its trusted partner to deliver the qualifications for their apprentices due to the college's strong reputation for training.
Ryan began his career at HCS in 2019, through hard work and dedication he advanced to supervisor. Reflecting on his career progression, Ryan shares, “Starting with HCS was a huge opportunity for me, now I’m proud to be mentoring others.”
Ryan now supervises Kieran, a second-year apprentice who was taken on in 2023. Kieran, who is also attending South Lanarkshire College, appreciates the guidance from Ryan. “Having Ryan as my mentor makes a huge difference. He’s been in my shoes and knows exactly what I need to learn and how to improve. I’m thankful for this opportunity,” Kieran says.
The success of Ryan’s journey has encouraged HCS to continue investing in apprenticeships. In 2024, the company welcomed Matthew as a new apprentice followed by Ebrima in 2025, marking the company’s ongoing commitment to cultivating future talent. Matthew, just beginning his apprenticeship, expresses his excitement about the opportunity: “Joining HCS as an apprentice feels like a great step forward in my career. I’m excited to learn and grow within a company that values training and development.”
Ryan’s transition from engineer to supervisor highlights HCS Water Treatment’s dedication to fostering growth within its team. By investing in apprentices like Kieran, Matthew and Ebrima, HCS ensures both its future success and the development of skilled professionals ready to contribute to the industry.
