We are excited to announce that we have secured new funding to run Flexible Workforce Development courses throughout this academic year.
The Flexible Workforce Development Fund (FWDF) allows organisations to access funding to provide low or no cost training to upskill and reskill their existing workforce, through a vast range of high-quality provision with South Lanarkshire College.
The FWDF is a fund designed in direct response to feedback from the Scottish Government’s consultation on the introduction of the UK Government Apprenticeship Levy and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Funded by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) it offers organisations funding towards the upskilling and reskilling of their staff through professional training at their local college.
The fund is typically renewed once a year from September, allowing employers to tap into its benefits annually.
The fund can be used by employers to upskill or reskill their workforce and can be used as an opportunity to engage and motivate employees. The funding allows staff to undergo high-quality training to enable businesses to develop.
For the 2022/23 academic year, we are offering a wide range of courses via the FWDF funding, courses include Book-keeping, Adobe Photoshop, Domestic Hot Water Storage Systems, Food Hygiene and Excel courses. Courses are delivered over a few hours or a few days depending on programme choice, and can be taught as outreach in employers work premises.
