Who is the course for?

This course is for individuals, groups or business who would like to ensure that they have the skills to manage emergency situation with children and infants. 

What will I study?

The Emergency Paediatric First Aid course provides learners with the practical skills and theoretical understanding needed to respond to a range of emergency situations involving infants and young children. Topics covered include assessing incidents, managing an unresponsive child or infant, performing CPR, dealing with choking, wounds and bleeding, shock, seizures, and minor injuries. The course also introduces key principles of infection control and safe use of first aid equipment. Learners will engage in scenario-based training to build confidence and competence in delivering effective first aid in real-life situations.

How will I be assessed?

The assessment for the course is completed at various points with a combination of theory questions and practical skills assessment. 

You must achieve both theory and practical skills assessment to achieve the award.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements. 

There is a practical element to this course, with Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and manual handling, so you would be required to be comfortable moving objects, kneeling on the floor and bending. 

What are the interview arrangements?

There is not interview for this course. You should include information on why you want to do this course in your personal statement within the application form.
