Industrial Action

You may be aware that college lecturers, as members of the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS-FELA) Union, and business support staff as members of Unison have voted in favour of a national programme of strike action across Scotland’s colleges, in relation to pay.

Scheduled Industrial Action date:

Wednesday 20 September

Unless your lecturer tells you otherwise, your classes will be cancelled. School provision on the day including Foundation Apprenticeships will also be cancelled. The College will remain open to students for support and guidance during all strike days.

Please note unless your lecturer confirms that your class will be taking place on the strike days, you will not be required to attend your class on this date and will be recorded as present. You do not need a self-certificate and arrangements are in place to ensure there is no impact on student payments.

The College will strive to minimise the impact of the planned industrial action on your learning and teaching, however, please be aware that student support mechanisms available on strike days may be severely impacted. We would encourage you to use this time to carry on with your work via self-study.

We know this has been a difficult period and we want to remind you that we are here to support you to achieve your qualification.
