Intro to the course:

Introduction to Early Learning and Childcare

This course will provide the learner with the underpinning knowledge to support further studies in the area of early learning and childcare. The course will explore topics such as how children develop and learn, the benefits of play for children and how to support the safety, health and wellbeing of children. It is widely understood that in order to effectively support children's learning and development, adults have to take care of their own mental health and wellbeing. For this reason, this course will consider the mental health and wellbeing of learners as well as the children they work with, providing the opportunity to develop positive health, wellbeing and coping strategies. After completion of this course, learners could progress to HNC Childhood Practice in August 2023.
