Who is the course for?

This qualification is ideal if you are have management responsibilities but no formal training, and are serious about developing your abilities. It’s particularly suited to practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budget cuts or other pressures.

What will I study?

You can take this qualification as a concise award, a broader certificate or a comprehensive diploma. The units in this qualification fall into seven broad areas. These are:

  • team leadership – for example, how to motivate people to improve performance

  • understanding leadership

How will I be assessed?

Assessment instruments will involve you completing a relevant work-based task that will allow you to apply and reflect on your learning.

Each unit is divided into learning outcomes that describe what a learner should know, understand, and/or be able to do at the end of a programme. Learning outcomes are a regulated component of a unit and therefore may not be amended.  Each learning outcome is articulated by its assessment criteria, which are descriptions of what you are expected to do to demonstrate that the learning outcome has been achieved. Assessment criteria are pivotal to assessment and are the most commonly used component when marking.

What are the entry requirements?
