Intro to the course:
Part-qualified and newly qualified Accountants are Scotland's most sought-after employees, according to research from Hays in 2020. The average salary for an accountant in Scotland is £37,500.
This course enables entry into our full-time HNC/D in Accounting course starting in August. It would also enable give a good foundation for anyone wishing to undertake a Modern Apprenticeship in Accounting.
Students will undertake two Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualifications:
- AAT Award in Bookkeeping at Level 1
- AAT Award in Business Skills at level 1
Students will also be given an introduction to the fundamentals of Accounting and Finance in areas such as:
- Management Accounting
- Financial Accounting
- Business Accounting
- Sage Accounting and Payroll
The course also ensures a good foundation in Core Skills:
- Working with others
- numeracy
- communication
- problem solving
- I.T.
