Our January start Hair and Make-Up skills course will give you an introduction to studying Hairdressing and Make-Up Artistry. The course will be taught with the aim of helping you progress to a further Hairdressing or Make-Up course or Apprenticeship in industry. You will learn a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge to start your career within the industry.

NPA in Cosmetology Contemporary make-up Make-up Artistry practical skills Introduction to colour Hairdressing practical skills Product awareness Portfolio presentation
Progression to full time SVQ2 Hairdressing or Level 6 media make up
Practical assessments carried out under observation Digital Essential knowledge
This course is an introduction to hairdressing and make up skills. Completion offers progression to SVQ2 Hairdressing at SCQF level 5 or Level 6 Media make-up.
Junior Hairstylist Make-up Assistant
No formal entry requirements however, two National 4/equivalent qualifications would be beneficial. Enthusiasm/motivation for the make-up industry and a creative ability is an advantage.
Interviews not required, additional information will be provided by the Hairdressing department
If you have a passion for hairdressing or make-up and would like a career in this very creative industry this could be your starting point. This short course will introduce you to all aspects of styling hair, classic, fashion and creative make-up trends.
