What will I study?

This course includes: 

  • Building maintenance technology 
  • Inspection and services in large buildings 
  • Construction materials and specifications 
  • Construction technology (industrial/commercial superstructure and substructure) 
  • Building measurement 
  • Cost studies You’ll gain skills in study, research, analysis, planning and learn to take responsibility for your own learning and how to work co-operatively.

How will I be assessed?

Ongoing individual unit assessments throughout the course, using a range of methods. These are both open and closed book assessments. An end-of-year graded unit will give the final grade.

What are the entry requirements?

One or more of the following: 

  • 1 Higher Grade with appropriate Standard Grades or National 5 Awards or 
  • At least 12 relevant SQA National Qualification Units at appropriate level.
  • Relevant work experience or qualifications Course entry may be subject to interview.
