Intro to the course:

Taught by Bake Off: The Professionals winner, Helen Vass, you’ll gain at first-hand the skills, knowledge and experience to progress in the industry or education. You’ll learn how to temper chocolate, make basic garnishes, make basic moulded chocolates, hand-rolled truffles, desserts made with chocolate and more. 

By the end of the course, you will have a basic understanding of chocolate and be able to make your own chocolates and use chocolate in different pastry applications.

Who is the course for?

Ideal for anyone looking for a career in the chocolate-making industry. It will suit school leavers or those wanting to change career or get started in the industry.

What will I study?

You’ll learn how to temper chocolate, make basic garnishes, make basic moulded chocolates, hand-rolled truffles, desserts made with chocolate and more. The course includes groupwork, lectures, industry visits and guest speakers. The course is part demonstration by the chef lecturer and part hands-on.

Ongoing assessments.

No previous experience required. This course is suitable for beginners. It's ideal for anyone who has a passion for chocolate.
