NPA Creative Hairdressing

The main aim of the qualification is to equip learners with a range of occupational, relevant skills, knowledge and experience through establishing a balance between practical and essential skills within a programme of relevant supporting units which will help students prepare for employment.  The course will also meet the vocational needs of those already in employment in the hairdressing industry or those seeking to enhance their employment opportunities.

Core units include:

• Advanced cutting and styling techniques
• Advanced fashion colouring techniques
• Occasional hair using adornments

Optional units may include:

• Hairdressing total imagery
• Current techniques in long hair
• Styling for a total look
• Clipper cutting techniques: gents
• Hair, beauty and make-up: competition technical skills
• Postiche application and styling: an introduction

Available part-time day and evening

Duration 2 x 3hr sessions x 36 weeks

SCQF level 6

Hairdresser,stylist

HNC Hairdressing with relevent with relevant industrial experience, HNC Fashion Make-up, HND Make-up Artistry

• SVQ level 2 Hairdressing or
• SCQF level 5 Hairdressing
• Industry experience
• Entry to this course is based on successful performance at interview
• Skills test for all candidates at interview
