This course includes a placement in a health or social care setting subject to a satisfactory PVG check PVG student leaflet

Core units include:

Communication with and complete records for individuals

Support the health and safety of yourself and individuals

Ensure your own actions support the care protection and well-being of individuals

Develop your knowledge and practice

Support individuals to access and participate in recreational activities

Duration 6 months.

Career opportunities exist in a variety of care settings.  Career progression will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory PVG check.  PVG student leaflet

Successful completion may allow students to progress to SVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care, HNC Social Care, HNC Health Care.  Progression is dependent on a satisfactory PVG check.  PVG student leaflet

Significant practical experience in a care environment

Either completion of mandatory units for SVQ2 or Intermediate 2 Care

One satisfactory reference

Satisfactory entry test and interview
