Qualifications

The Scottish Qualifications Authority, or SQA as it is more commonly known, is the main accreditation body for qualifications in Scotland.

Further information on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) can be found on the SQA website  www.sqa.org.uk.  Courses at South Lanarkshire College generally fall within the levels shown below. If you need more information on the course you plan to study, just ask.  

National Certificate - SCQF levels 2 - 6
Access 2 / Access 3 / Intermediate 1 / 2 / Higher

SVQ Level 1 / 2 / 3 - SCQF levels 4 - 6/7
Scottish Vocational Qualification

HNC - SCQF level 7
Higher National Certificate

HND - SCQF level 8
Higher National Diploma

PDA Level 1 / 2 / 3 - SCQF levels 6-8
Professional Development Award Some subject areas have qualifications from other certificating bodies.
