Job Search & Enterprise
A high proportion of our students have a job when they leave college and we have good links with employers who contact the College when they have vacancies.
Jobsearch
The starting point for jobsearch is the Moving On section in your PLP folder. It helps to work through this section before starting to look for a job.
Resources are available in the Library and on Moodle on CV writing, job application letters, preparation for interviews, etc or you can use the SDS Careers website to access resources. www.myworldofwork.co.uk/
Vacancies notice boards are constantly being updated with full-time, part-time and seasonal vacancies and opportunities for voluntary work. Many employers look for experience in voluntary work when selecting applicants for interview.
In the Advice Centre, the JC+ Jobpoints can help you identify full-time and part-time vacancies in the local and wider area. You can also phone JC+ and DWP benefits line free of charge.
Job Vacancies
The Inclusiveness Project are always in touch with employers for placements and vacancies. If you would like to be considered for upcoming opportunities, please register your details and the team will be in touch.
VASLAN have a regular presence in College to recruit those who want to gain work experience through voluntary work, prior to entering the job market.

Enterprise
For those interested in setting up their own business after completing their College studies, Careers Scotland's Get into Enterprise information is available. Enterprise activity is included in some courses and the College can offer transport to groups visiting the main Enterprise exhibition in Glasgow in March.
