Construction Operations

Rebuilding Opportunities - Construction Operations is a short, 17 week course in general construction operations with a strong focus on progressing students into employment.

Applicants must be aged 16-24, resident in South Lanarkshire and currently unemployed.  The first course starts on 24 October 2011, with a second course starting early in 2012.

Successful completion will lead to a National Progression Award in General Construction Operations which includes:

• an introduction to safe working practices
• monoblocking
• slabbing
• basic brickwork
  
• drainage. 
  

The focus of the course is to progress students into employment, so there will be considerable work on employability and jobsearch skills as well as a work placement.
