Pass Plus visits College
South Lanarkshire Council are presently offering a £75 subsidy towards the cost of Pass Plus for each participant. The aim is to Provide newly qualified drivers with the experience, skills and knowledge required for varying road conditions. The Driving Standards Agency Pass Plus project visited South Lanarkshire College recently to promote the project.
Access To Teaching Primary Education
Martin McKenna (37) from Westwood, East Kilbride had always dreamed of a career in Primary Teaching. Martin believed he had the personal skills needed for the role but felt his qualifications were no longer relevant and required updating. To ensure a brighter future, Martin decided to apply for the Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP) Access to Primary Education course at South Lanarkshire College.
Pamper Evenings
The Beauty Section is hosting a Pamper Evening on Tuesday 21 May 2013 from 4.30 pm . The event is open to all and clients will be able to enjoy treatments including eyelash extensions and waxing.
NC Horticulture
Starting in August 2013, NC Horticulture at SCQF level 4 will be offered for the first time at South Lanarkshire College. This programme is suitable for school leavers with a group of units at Access 3, Fresh Start students wishing to progress to mainstream study and those currently working in a horticulture occupation who do not hold a qualification in the subject.
Travel & Tourism
As well as developing communication, customer service and selling skills, this course at SCQF level 5 covers business practices in travel and tourism and tourist destinations.Higher Studies: Business, Accounting, Hospitality
The new Higher Studies programmes are for those who do not have the entry requirements for study at HNC/HND level in business, accounting or hospitality. The courses are suitable for school leavers and adult returners wishing to change career.

Diploma Spa Therapies
This new, part-time, professional development award is designed to provide CPD for Beauty Therapists wishing to extend the range of therapies they offer in a spa environment.
Web, Animation & Video Editing
The creative industries sector employs around 65,000 people in Scotland and is forecast to play an even bigger role in coming years. Key industry areas include animation, web design, photo imaging and publishing and this course is an excellent foundation for those interested in working in this sector. Along with website design and development, the course includes audio recording and still / video image editing.
